A Wafer Check Valve (also called a Single Plate NRV or Wafer Type Non-Return Valve) is a compact, lightweight backflow prevention valve designed to be clamped between two pipe flanges. It operates automatically — opening when upstream pressure exceeds downstream pressure, and closing instantly when flow stops or reverses, preventing water hammer and backflow damage.

Stainless Steel (SS304/SS316) wafer check valves are used for corrosive media, food processing, chemical service, and offshore/seawater applications where corrosion resistance is required. SS316 offers superior resistance to chlorides and acids compared to SS304.
