A Wafer Check Valve (also called a Single Plate NRV or Wafer Type Non-Return Valve) is a compact, lightweight backflow prevention valve designed to be clamped between two pipe flanges. It operates automatically — opening when upstream pressure exceeds downstream pressure, and closing instantly when flow stops or reverses, preventing water hammer and backflow damage.

Krishna Industries, trading as KELOR Valves, has been sourcing and supplying industrial valves from Ahmedabad, Gujarat since 1985. We supply wafer check valves directly to EPC contractors, fire system integrators, HVAC companies, water treatment plants, and MRO traders across India — at competitive bulk pricing with full documentation support.

Key Technical Advantages

  • Compact wafer design — up to 60% shorter face-to-face dimension vs conventional swing check valves; ideal for tight installation spaces
  • Spring-assisted fast closure — disc closes before flow reverses, eliminating water hammer and reverse shock in pump systems
  • Low pressure drop — streamlined single-disc design ensures minimal flow resistance and lower energy consumption
  • Elastomer seat seal — EPDM/NBR/PTFE seat options ensure bubble-tight shutoff across all common industrial fluids
  • Lightweight construction — significantly lighter than flanged check valves; reduces pipe support and installation cost
  • Universal flange compatibility — fits ANSI 150, DIN PN10/PN16, IS flange standards without modification
  • Both horizontal and vertical installation — install in any orientation (vertical must be upward flow for spring-loaded models)

Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes are available for wafer check valves?
We supply wafer check valves from 1″ (DN25) to 24″ (DN600) in CI, MS, SS304 and SS316. Common sizes — 2″, 3″, 4″, and 6″ in CI — are kept in ready stock at our Ahmedabad warehouse. Larger sizes (8″ to 24″) are available on 7–15 working days lead time depending on material grade and quantity.
What materials are available for wafer check valves?
We supply in four material grades: Cast Iron (CI), Mild Steel / Carbon Steel (MS/WCB), Stainless Steel SS304, and Stainless Steel SS316. CI is the most economical and widely used for water, fire, and HVAC lines. SS316 is recommended for corrosive, chemical, or saline service. Contact us to confirm the right grade for your process fluid.
What is the difference between CI and SS wafer check valves?
Cast Iron (CI) wafer check valves are suitable for water, air and non-corrosive fluids — most commonly used in fire fighting, HVAC and water supply lines. They are the most cost-effective option. Stainless Steel (SS304/SS316) wafer check valves are used for corrosive media, food processing, chemical service, and offshore/seawater applications where corrosion resistance is required. SS316 offers superior resistance to chlorides and acids compared to SS304.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
The standard MOQ is 20 pieces per size and grade. For urgent single-piece requirements, please contact us directly — we accommodate genuine project needs. Bulk project orders (100+ pcs) qualify for special pricing.
Do you supply wafer check valves for fire fighting systems?
Yes. Our CI wafer check valves with EPDM seats are widely used in fire fighting pump discharge lines, hydrant systems, and sprinkler networks across India. They conform to API 594 design standard and are suitable for PN10/PN16 fire line pressure ratings. UL/FM listed options available on request for high-specification projects.
What is the delivery time from Ahmedabad?
Ready stock sizes (2″, 3″, 4″, 6″ in CI) dispatch within 2–3 working days. Standard orders dispatch in 7–10 working days. Bulk project orders (500+ pcs) require 15–20 working days. We dispatch via reputed transporters to all Indian states with door delivery.
Do you provide GST invoice and material test certificate?
Yes. We provide a proper GST tax invoice with E-Way bill for every shipment. Material test certificates (MTC), hydrostatic test certificates, and third-party inspection (TPI) coordination are available on request — especially for EPC and government tender orders.
Can you supply wafer check valves with private labelling for traders?
Yes. Krishna Industries offers OEM/private label supply for traders, distributors and brand owners across India. We can supply valves with your brand marking, custom packaging, and documentation. Minimum quantity applies. Contact us on WhatsApp to discuss requirements.
What is a wafer check valve and how does it work?
A wafer check valve is a non-return valve (NRV) that allows fluid to flow in only one direction. It is installed between two pipe flanges (wafer-style, no separate flanges needed on the valve itself). When upstream pressure exceeds downstream pressure, the spring-loaded disc opens and allows flow. When flow stops or reverses, the spring closes the disc instantly, preventing backflow, water hammer, and pump damage. It is the most compact and cost-effective type of check valve for industrial piping systems.
Where is Krishna Industries located and do you supply outside Gujarat?
